Protest rally
Akhil Bharatiya Rashtriya Shaikshik Mahasangh, the RSS teachers’ front, staged a protest march in Burdwan on Thursday against the Supreme Court order mandating that all teachers who have not cleared TET must qualify it.
Starting from Town Hall, members marched to Curzon Gate. Heavy police deployment and large barricades were in place to prevent any untoward incident. Later, a delegation submitted a memorandum to the District Magistrate. District president Dhruvajyoti Ghosh said that the teachers appointed before 2021 were recruited under the rules then in force. “Asking them to clear TET now is unjust. If this rule applies, it should be enforced in all professions,” he argued.
